I installed this in a Linux box to convert it from a home-brew NFS NAS to a home-brew iSCSI SAN.I haven't thought it about at all since I set up the bridge between the two ports and assigned it the IPv6 address but today logged into review a different product and realized that the absolute best thing you can about computer hardware it that it does what says on the box and that you don't have to think it once it's installed.

Didn't work for me. Maybe this one was a dud. Installed OK, but then Windows disabled it with Code 43 it after 10 minutes saying "the device had reported a problem." Tried everything I could think of including multiple drivers, different PCE express ports, etc. Same deal - COde 43 after 10 minutes. Back it goes.

Installed July 2021 in a Dell Precision T7910 workstation. As per the included data sheet, you do need to download the correct driver from Startech.com or Windows will BSOD on you.

Like the title says, works out of the box with Ubuntu 18.04. Knocked off one star because my second card went into a Win10 machine and doesn't appear to work at all.

Works as promised

THis is a very beast card, it just works! it needs driver from "startech" website but after that and a reboot, it works so well, and just look at it! it looks so beefy! will defently buy more!

As anticipated

This is a perfect, good working 10G RJ45 NIC with out of the box compatibility in Centos 7.3. This is also the cheapest X550 based NIC I could find and am happy with the performance and capabilities. I have not yet tried 2.5G and 5G, as we do not have any other compatible devices for these speeds.

Good quality Network card. Heatsink is a bit hot but it works well. Will buy more
